Skylights top Diggers in OT

HAVRE — A ferocious Montana Tech comeback was spoiled in overtime Saturday night.

MSU-Northern outscored the Orediggers 10-6 in the extra frame, and the Skylights beat Tech 59-55 in a Frontier Conference battle. (Stats)

The loss came after the Orediggers outscored the Skylights 25-14 in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime tied at 49.

Tiara Gilham came off the bench to score 20 points to lead the Skylights, who improved to 1-5 in conference and 9-9 overall. Sydney Hovde tossed in 13 points in the win, while Peyton Kehr scored 10.

Mollie Peoples came off the bench to score a team-leading 17 points for the Orediggers. The Butte Central graduate hit three 3-pointers.

Fellow sophomore Mesa Williams scored 16 points, and junior Kaylee Zard posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Orediggers (1-5, 11-6) are back on the road Tuesday when they head to Helena to take on Carroll College.
