HAVRE —The Skylights bounced back Sunday afternoon.
MSU-Northern saw four players score in double figures as the Skylights knocked off Montana Tech 67-53 in a Frontier Conference women’s basketball game at the Armory. (Stats)
Tiara Gilham scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Northern, which led 27-25 at halftime and pulled away in the second half.
Sydney Hovde added 14 points and 13 rebounds as Northern (1-5, 2-8) picked up its first league victory. McKenzie Gunter scored 13, and Peyton Kehr netted 12.
Dani Urick’s 22 points led the Orediggers (4-6 in conference and overall). The Orediggers got nine points from Mesa Williams and Mollie Peoples, and six points and seven boards from Celestina Faletoi.
Also, Madison Allen scored four, Aubrie Rademacher tossed in two, and Soda Rice scored one for Tech, which is still without injured Tavia Rooney.
Montana Tech is back on the road next Friday and Saturday to take on Carroll College in Helena. Northern will play host to the University of Providence on Wednesday.
