Dylan Lanahan hit a two-run single to kick start a six-run first inning Thursday, and the Butte Miners held on to beat the Livingston Braves 11-9 in a nine-inning Southern A game at Copper Mountain Park.
The Miners lead 8-1 before the Braves battled back with a six-run fourth inning. Relief pitcher Trey Hoagland and the Miners, tough, were able to hold on for a win that lifted their record to 12-9 in conference and 26-22 overall.
Jarad Haran went 4 for 5 with two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Miners’ 12-hit attack.
Tristan Frey hit a double and as single and drove in two runs, while Zach Hart hit two singles. Also, Dalton Daum, Colten Billteen and Dyalan McDonald hit singles for the Miners.
Buck Spallone, Sterling Lay and John Becker doubled to lead the Braves.
The Miners are back in action Friday when they continue Tuesday’s rain-delayed doubleheader in Helena against the Reps. The Miners are trailing 7-3 in the fourth inning of Game 1.
The resumption of the twin bill will begin at 4 p.m. at a Babe Ruth Field in Helena. Kindrick Legion Park is unavailable because of a Pioneer League game.
