Sixteen Shrine players are future Orediggers

Montana Tech football fans will have plenty to cheer for tonight at the Montana East-West Shrine Game in Laurel.

Sixteen of the players in the game will be reporting to Montana Tech for preseason football camp on Aug. 1. They’ll open practice with the Orediggers on Aug. 3 in preparation for Tech’s season-opening Aug. 23 game at Montana Western.

Of the 16 future Orediggers in the game, eight will play for the West and eight will play for the East.

The game kicks off at 7 p.m. and can be heard live on KBOW (550 AM, 101.5 FM or online).

Tech signees from the West are:

Mick Paffhausen, a safety from Dillon

Nick Amestoy, an inside linebacker from Helena High

Zach Gavlak, a defensive end from Stevensville

Tyler Sanders, a defensive lineman from Helena Capital

James Foote, an offensive tackle from Missoula Big Skky

Zach Dennehy, an offensive tackle from Kalispell Glacier

Daniel Van Dyke, a cornerback from Helena Capital, Capital

Ethan Reich, an inside linebacker from Anaconda

Tech signees from the East are:

Seth Adams, a running back from Harlem

Thomas Bear Robe, an offensive tackle from Skyview

Brock Beede, a tight end from Joliet

Zeb Bloom, a safety from Sims

Hunter Gappmayer, a running back from Bozeman

Trevor Hopf, an guard from Billings Skyview

Levi Lynde, a cornerback from Red Lodge

Jalen Whitley, a defensive lineman from Skyview
