Six run to victory at An Ri Ra race

Josh Panasuk, Maggie Harkins, Aidan Reed, Carly Smiedala and Sean and Brenna Foley were the overall winners at Saturday’s An Ri Ra Irish Festival Race in Uptown Butte.

Panasuk, 20, a Butte High graduate who runs for MSU-Billings, won the 10-kilometer race in 34 minutes, 20 seconds. Butte Central runner Conor McGee, 18, placed second at 35:52, while Don Foley, 41, placed third at  37:33.

Harkins, 23, was the fastest woman in the 10K, finishing in 38:42. Anaconda’s Olivia Wood, 18, was second at 40:01.

Reed, 15, won the 5K race, finishing in 16:11. Aidan Theard, 17, was second at 17:11. Smiedala, 15,  won the women’s 5K in 20:31. Josey Smiedala, 17, finished second in 21:21.

In the 1-mile race, 11-year-old Sean Foley was the fastest boy, completing the run in 8:01. His sister Brenna, 9, topped the girls’ field in 9:53. She placed second overall.
