Shorthanded Central girls roll to win on road

LIVINGSTON — A 16-3 run in the second quarter propelled Butte Central to a 47-28 non-conference win over Livingston Tuesday night.

Brooke Badovinac poured in 23 points to lead the Maroons, who improved to 6-5 despite playing without injured senior guard Sofee Thatcher.

Ella Moodry scored 13 points for the Maroons, while Brenna Foley tossed in a career-high seven points in the victory.

Mollie Drew got the start in place of Thatcher and scored four points. Kathryn Lalicker and Maycee Anderson also contributed for BC.

Taylor Young and Lily Weirner each scored six points to lead the Rangers, who fell to 1-11 on the season.

Tuesdays’ win was the first of three games this week for BC. The Maroons will play at home against Corvallis on Thursday before heading to East Helena on Saturday.
