Short handed Bulldog boys Soccer battled to a Tie

By Holly Jordan Carpenter

The Butte High boys soccer team traveled to Kalispell today with only 10 healthy varsity players. With JV players as subs the Bulldogs battled to a 1-1 tie with the Braves a beautiful and clear day.

The game was well played and evenly matched throughout. Flathead scored 25 minutes into the first half. Butte High had more shots on goal in the 2nd half.

Jack Luoma passed to Cameron Tobiness after a free kick who rocked a 25 yard shot into the net with only 3 minutes left. Butte High had one more good chance to score on a another free kick but Jack Luoma ‘s shot was deflected and time expired.

“I was very pleased with our team energy and teamwork–especially given how poor the air quality was all week in Butte as we tried to prepare for Flathead.”
“I also thought captains Zane Fredlund and Riley Doyle showed great leadership and poise on the field today as we rebounded from our last tough loss.” said Coach Carpenter
The short handed Bulldogs will have to recover quick with a game against Glacier at 9am Saturday.
