MISSOULA — Saturday was a rough day for the Butte High boys’ basketball team. Alex Germer made sure of that.
The Montana State signee hit six 3-poitners and scored 28 points to lead Missoula Sentinel to an 86-50 win over the Bulldogs. Germer was a perfect 10 for 10 from the free throw line.
Tony Frohlich-Fair added 16 points for the Spartans, who rolled their record to 7-0.
Sentinel led 22-9 after the first quarter and 47-26 at halftime. The Spartans led 70-33 after three.
“I think we were beat before we took the floor,” Butte High coach Matt Luedtke said. “The kids were definitely intimidated.”
Parker Lindsey added 10 points for Sentinel, which got eight from Hayden Kolb and seven from Kaden Sheridan.
Mikey O’Dell scored 15 points to lead the Bulldogs, who are still down three quarantining starters. Jace Stenson scored nine points, while Jonas Sherman tossed in eight. The Bulldogs also got six points from Jake Olson and Kooper Klobucar, five from Kenley Leary and one from Kale McDonald.
The 3-4 Bulldogs are back in action Thursday when they travel to Helena to take on Capital. Their next home game is next Saturday against Helena High.
