Senators top Miners

HELENA — An eight-run second inning proved to be the difference Saturday as the host Helena Senators topped the Butte Miners 14-6 at Kindrick Legion Park. (Boxscore)

The loss dropped the Miners to 1-2 at the Keith Sell Tournament.

Victor Scott smacked three hits, and Forest Suero, Will Brent, Quinn Belcher and Cade Coate doubled to lead Helena in the win.

Aidan Lee and Kian O’Neill each poked a pair of hits for the Miners. Lee doubled and drove in two runs. Egan Lester hit a single for Butte. Reece Cox and O’Neill drove in a run.

Butte closes out pool play at 10 a.m. Sunday against Billings. Monday’s slate depends on seeding.
