Saturday’s Hot Ticket: Orediggers vs. Saints

Women’s college basketball
Montana Tech at Carroll College, 5:30 p.m.

The P.E. Center will set the scene as the unranked Orediggers and No. 8 Saints jump back into Frontier Conference action.

Tech is 10-4 overall and 0-2 in conference after a road loss to Lewis-Clark State and a home loss to Montana Western. Messa Williams averages 14.9 points per game to lead five Orediggers averaging in double figures scoring. Kayle Zard adds 12.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per game to the lineup. Shea Potter chips in with 10.8 points and 6.1 boards, while Mollie Peoples scores 10.3 points per game, and Dani Urick tosses in 10.0.

The Saints (2-0, 10-3) have Frontier Conference home wins over The University of Providence and MSU-Northern under their belts. Hannah Dean, a 6-foot-1 senior center, averages 15.2 points and 7.1 rebounds to lead the Saints.

Men’s college basketball
Montana Tech at Carroll College, 7:30 p.m.

The Orediggers look to move over .500 in league play in the nightcap against the No. 3-ranked Saints. Tech is 11-3 overall and 1-1 in the Frontier with a home win over Western and a road loss against L-C State.

Taylor England’s 15.8 points per game leads the Orediggers. Blake Dittman adds 11.7 points per game, while Dylan Pannabecker scores 10.9.

Match Burnham, a 6-8 senior forward, averages 21.2 points per game for the Saints (13-1, 2-0).  Matt Wyman (19.9) and Dane Warp (19.1) aren’t far behind.
