Following is a rundown of local sports action on the docket for Saturday, Sept. 15.
Prep Soccer
Billings Senior at Butte High, girls 5 p.m., boys 7 p.m.
UPDATE: Smokey conditions forced the cancellation of this game. A make up date has not been determined.
College Volleyball
Westminster College at Montana Tech, 2 p.m.
The Orediggers are in bounce-back mode during the manatee at the HPER. The Orediggers fell to 1-1 in Frontier Conference play and 11-3 overall after last week’s three-game loss at Lewis Clark-State. Shersteen Cline smacked 12 kills in that loss. Kimmy Kavran collected 17 digs.
Prep Volleyball
Butte Central at Hamilton, 4 p.m.
The Maroons (1-1) hit the road two days after falling in three games to Anaconda. Mariah Cooney led the Maroons in that loss in the Snake Pit. She pounded 12 kills. Also, Danee Leary tallied eight kills, Danika Neumann (11) and Cassidy McGree (10) led the team in digs, while Taylor Marthaller and Shannon McLaughlin combined for 21 assists.
Billings Senior at Butte High, 3 p.m.
The Bulldogs face some serious competition Saturday afternoon when the Broncs head to the Richardson Gym. Butte High is coming off Tuesday’s three-game loss to Great Falls High. Carlie Haeffner’s eight kills and Hattie Thatcher’s 15 digs led Butte High in that loss.
