Saints sweep Bulldogs

DILLON — Carroll College swept past Montana Tech in a Frontier Conference basketball doubleheader Saturday at the Straugh Gymnasium.

The No. 6 Carroll won 63-55 before the Saints men wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the Frontier playoffs with a 67-52 victory.

Jovan Sljivancanin had a huge game to lead the Saints, who led 36-23 at halftime on their way to their 10th win in their last 11 games. He scored 22 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and dushed out five assists. Murat Guzelocak scored 13 points in the win, and Shamrock Campbell netted 12.

Jalen Hodges’ 14 points and seven rebounds paced the Bulldogs. Jamal Stephenson scored 10 points, and Tanner Haverfield poured in nine.

Jamie Pickens scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Saints in the women’s game. Danielle Wager scored 14 points to go along with eight rebounds. Christine Denny and Kamden Hilborn each scored eight. Denny also grabbed eight boards.

Brynley Fitzgerald led the Bulldogs with 15 points and five rebounds. Paige Holmes scored 11 points, and Shainy Mack tossed in 10.

The Saints and Bulldogs will close the regular season Sunday in Dillon.
