HELENA, Mont. – No. 18 Carroll College (15-5, 6-1) won their fourth straight game running past Montana Tech 72-46 in the P.E. Center.
The Orediggers (6-11, 2-5) dropped their third straight road game.
Tech had the first points on the board and held the lead halfway through the first frame. Carroll turned up the heat finishing with a 13-0 run to end the quarter leading 19-10.
The Orediggers battled in the second frame when Aubrie Rademacher hit a three pointer with 2:28 left cutting the Saints lead to 30-28. Rademacher had seven points in the second quarter and 10 in the half going 2 for 3 from deep.
But the Saints marched back and finished the second quarter like the first with a 6-0 run leading 36-28 at the break.
The Orediggers best shooting of the game came in the second shooting 42.9% from the field.
The second half went to the Saints as they shot 50% from the field after the break and the Orediggers finished the game shooting 6 for 25.
The Orediggers shot 30.8% from the field to 46.6% from the Saints. Carroll outrebounded the Orediggers 37-28.
Rademacher had just two points after the break finishing with 12 points.
Tavia Rooney led the Orediggers with 14 points. Rooney had only four in the second half and finished with five rebounds and four assists.
Soda Rice went 4 for 7 in the game with nine points and two rebounds.
Challis Westwater had five points with all of them coming from the free throw line. Westwater had a team high six rebounds.
Maddie Gerritz led the Saints who had four of their five starters in double digits with 14 points and five rebounds. Jamie Pickens had 12 points, six rebounds, and a pair of blocks.
Kyndall Keller finished with 11 and Kamden Hilborn had 10.
Montana Tech returns home after their longest conference road trip of the season. The Orediggers host the University of Providence Thursday on Kelvin Sampson Court.
