Rosenleaf, Murray win long race at Frigid Digger

Hennessey, Case claim 3-mile titles

Ozzie Rosenleaf, Nicole Murray, Kaden Hennessey and McKenzie Case were the overall winners Saturday at the Wulfman’s Frigid Digger.

Rosenleaf and Murry took home titles in the 7.3-mile race. Rosenleaf won the men’s title with a time of 54 minutes, 31.8 seconds. The Butte runner outpaced second-place Dustin Deitchler of Helena by more than 10 minutes. (Age group results; Overall results)

Murray, of Whitehall, won the women’s race in 1:04:28. Butte’s Michele Bazzanella took second at 1:06:00.

Hennessey, a junior at Butte High, finished the 3-mile race in 23:18 to win the men’s title. Chase Moody of Butte took second at 24:52.

Case, a senior at Butte High, was the fastest female runner, crossing in 29:05. Butte’s Iris Smith took second in 29:10.

In all, 30 runners and walkers competed in the race named after legendary Butte runner John Wulf.
