Ozzie Rosenleaf of Butte and Nicole Murray of Whitehall ran to overall titles in the 7.3-mile race at the Wulfman’s Frigid Digger race.
Rosenleaf topped the men’s field by finishing the course in 52 minutes, 7 seconds. Dillon runner William Whearty finished second in 52:36, while Butte’s Don Foley took third in 53:36.
Murray was the first female runner with a time of 55:21. Michele Bazzanella of Butte placed second at 1:03:04. Vonnie Pattison of Glasgow took third in 1:08:01.
Jerry Ellison of Butte finished the 3-mile race in 24:24 to take the overall title. Butte runners Ray Rogers (24:51) and Phillip Knopp (26:07) placed second and third.
Ida Real, a sophomore at Butte High school, was the top female finisher. She crossed in 27:06. Stephanie Jamrog of Livivingston placed second at 27:51, while Abigail Peterson of Butte placed third in 28:28.
In all, 57 runners and walkers braved the cold, snowy conditions to compete in the race named in honor of legendary Butte runner John Wulf. Click the links before for complete results.
