ROOT SPORTS to air classic Big Sky football

SEATTLE — ROOT SPORTS announced today that the network will begin airing classic Big Sky Conference football games on April 4.

The network will air 30 classic games throughout the month.

The first classic airing on April 4 at 2:30 p.m. (Mountain Time) will be Montana at Eastern Washington from Sept. 29, 2012. The Eagles trailed the Grizzlies 26-17 with 2 minutes, 19 seconds to go in the game.

Two-time Big Sky Offensive Player of the Year and current Canadian Football League player Vernon Adams connected with Brandon Kaufman on a 30-yard touchdown pass, followed by Adams finding Ashton Clark for the game-winning 20-yard touchdown pass with 53 seconds left in the game to lift the Eagles to victory.

Also included in the ROOT Sports April football broadcasts will be Montana’s 1995 NCAA 1-AA national championship. Butte High graduates Randy Riley and Brian Toone combined to sack Marshall quarterback Chad Pennington for a safety in the Grizzlies’ 22-20 victory.

That Montana win will be aired April 26.
