Rocky picked to top Frontier volleyball

GREAT FALLS —  The Frontier Conference announced the Volleyball Preseason Poll Tuesday. Last seasons’ Frontier Tournament Champion Rocky Mountain College was selected first and Montana Tech tied for fourth with Montana State Northern.

Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams. First place was worth seven points, second place worth six points, third place worth five points, fourth place worth four points, fifth place worth three points, sixth place worth two points and seventh place worth one point.

Rocky received six first place votes with Montana Tech and Montana State Northern each receiving one first place vote.

The Orediggers finished sixth in the conference last season finishing with a 17-13 overall record. All-Conference selections Korey Krumm and Kim Kavran return to the court this season again. The Diggers open their home season with the inaugural Big Sky Volleyball Challenge on September 5th and 6th. Tech hosts last years’ national champion University of Texas at Brownsville and national champion runner up Biola each day of the tournament.
