Rocky men lean on bench in rout of Orediggers

BILLINGS — Rocky Mountain College got 53 points off the bench Saturday night, and the Battlin’ Bears ran to an 88-55 win over Montana Tech at the Fortin Center. (Stats)

The Rocky win comes two weeks after Tech topped the Battlin’ Bears 75-67 in Butte.

Satchel McDonald came off the bench to score 17 points to lead Rocky, which led 41-22 at halftime. Austin Payne scored 14 for Rocky, while Grant Wallace scored 10.

Jared Samuelson was the lone Rocky Starter to reach double figures. He scored 12 points.

Carson Dummer came off the bench to lead the Orediggers with 10 points. Taylor England and Nick Fitts each scored nine poitns, while Nate Ward tossed in eight, and Christian Jones scored seven.

Tech is back at home next Friday and Saturday, playing host to the University of Providence and MSU-Northern.
