Butte Central eighth grader Rileigh McGree won three events Friday at the East Middle School Invitational track meet at a sun-soaked Charlie Merrifield Track. (Results)
McGree won the 200-meters, the 100-meter hurdles and the long jump. She ran the 200 in 27.52, finished the hurdles in 17.09, and jumped 16 feet, 10 inches in the long jump.
McGree helped the Maroons place second in the eighth-grade standings. Montana City claimed the girls’ crowns in the seventh and eighth grade. East placed second in the seventh grade girls’ competition.
East claimed the seventh-grade boys’ division title. In the eighth-grade division, the Bullpups finished runner up to Dillon.
East seventh grader Makenna Bazo won the discus with a throw of 68 feet, 7 inches. The Bullpups also won the girls’ seventh-grade 400-meter relay with a time of 56.28 seconds. Meet results do not list the individual leg runners.
In the eighth-grade boys’ division, East’s Casey Kautzman, John Connole and Kooper Klobucar posted wins.
Kautzman won the 800 in 26 seconds flat, Conolle won the 400 in 59.71, and Klobucar launched the javelin 103-9 for the win.
Bullpup Cameron Gurnsey won the seventh-grade boys’ high jump with a mark of 4-11.
