HAVRE — Montana Tech senior Becca Richtman ran to third place at the Frontier Conference Cross Country Championships Friday afternoon at the Prairie Farms Golf Course. (Women’s results; Men’s results)
Richtman, who won all three regular-season meets this fall, finished the 5-kilomter race in 19 minutes, 13 seconds. Reghan Worley of Carroll College won the race in 19:07. Eireann O’Connor of Montana Western placed second at 19:10.
Rocky Mountain College runner Mei-Li Stevens placed fourth in 19:17.
Carroll won the team title with 36 points. Western took second at 59, followed by Rocky at 63, Tech at 86 and MSU-Northern at 120.
Oredigger freshman Averi Parker ran to 11th place with a time of 20:01. The rest of the Orediggers running Friday are also freshmen. They are Carlin Manning (21:05), Jessa Steele (21:26), Karolyna Buck (21:29), Payton Huss (22:26) and Raychel Hoerner (22:33).
On the men’s side, Rocky won the team title with 40 points. The Battlin’ Bears beat second-place Carroll by five points. Northern finished third at 83, followed closely by Western at 86 and Tech at 87.
Rocky runners Jackson Wilson and Elijah Boyd finished 1-2 in the 8-kilometer race. Wilson finished in 26:18 to beat Boyd by 18 seconds. Northern’s Field Soosloff placed third at 26:42, and Western runner Matt Wilson finished fourth at 26:53.
Tech’s Henry Kakalecik placed seventh overall with a time of 27:21 to lead the Oreidggers, whose team is made up exclusively of freshmen. Also running for Tech were River Sheppard (27:55), Ian Barville (28:00), Jake Vetter (28:35), Drew Williams (29:01) and Charles Carriker (29:42).
