WALNUT, Calif. — Chalk up another bigtime performance for Montana Tech senior Becca Richtman.
Competing in the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays, Richtman ran to fifth place of the women’s 3,000 steeplechase Thursday at Hilmer Lodge Stadium. The race included a field of 77 runners. (Results)
Katie Struthers of Utah State won the race in 10 minutes, 12.29 seconds. Unattached runner Arian Chai took second in 10:16.08, just ahead of Emily Chaston’s 10:16.53.
Haley Tanne of Southern Utah finished in 10:17.29 to barely beat Richman, who crossed in 10:17.30.
Richtman finished just ahead of Janette Schraft of Iowa State, Addison Stevenson of LSU and Maya Kobylanski of Idaho.
The Oredigger star will compete in the 5,000-meter race Friday.
