WALNUT, Calif. —Becca Richtman closed out the Mt. SAC Relays with a 12th-place showing in the women’s 5,000-meter race at Hilmer Lodge Stadium. (Results)
Isabel Van Camp of Arkansas won the race with a time of 15 minutes, 54.70 seconds. Kelby Anderson of North Dakota State was second at 15:58.18. The field included 30 competitors for the second-to-last race of the night.
Richtman finished in 16:23.08, which was good for second place in the first heat. She finished less than a half a second behind Rachel McCardell of Northwestern University. Richtman crossed just ahead of Olivia Borowiak of DePaul.
Friday’s showing came one day after Richtman placed fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
The Orediggers are back in action next Thursday and Friday at the Trudnowski Open/Frontier Conference Multi Events Championship in Helena.
