Responders bring parade to Special Olympians
Special Olympian Jalee Foley holds up a sign for first responders during a Law Enforcement/Special Olympics parade Friday evening on Harrison Ave

The Special Olympians could not parade because of the coronavirus pandemic.

So, the first responders brought the parade to them.

Local law enforcement — including Butte Police and Montana Highway Patrol — paraded past Special Olympians on Harrison Avenue Friday evening along with fire department personnel, volunteer firefighters, paramedics, search and rescue, and some Special Olympics fans.

The parade celebrated the 50th anniversary of Special Olympics Montana, which coincidentally falls on Peace Officer Memorial Day.
