DICKINSON — The Badlands Big Sticks slipped past the Mining City Tommyknockers 3-2 Tuesday night in an Expedition League game at Dakota Community Bank and Trust Field. (Boxscore)
Michael Reddick spun a gem to lead the Sticks to the victory. He struck out 11 batters, scattered four hits, walked three and gave up one run in the win.
Derek Gellos Angel De La Cruz and Matt Olive each smacked a pair of hits to lead the Badlands nine-hit attack.
Jeremy Husband struck out five over five innings to take the hard-luck loss for the Knockers. Jason Kramlich pitched three strong innings. Miles Hartsfield, Nick Hansen and Mike Decker doubled for the Tommyknockers. Judah Wilbur hit a pair of singles. Hayden Brown hit one.
With their third straight loss, the Tommyknockers (12-11) fell three games behind first-place Souris Valley in the second half Lewis Division race. The Big Sticks (14-9) are one game back.
The teams will play Game 3 of the four-game set Wednesday night.
