CODY, Wyo. — The Butte Cobras are returning home with a four-game winning streak.
David Hanny scored two goals to lead the way Saturday night as the Cobras topped the Yellowstone Quake 5-2 in an NA3HL Frontier Division game at the Riley Arena. (Stats)
The victory completed the two-game weekend sweep of the Quake. It also ran Butte’s winning streak to four games.
Cade Wessman, Luke Schleusner and Drysten Bailey also scored goals in the victory. Wessman, Schleusner and Hanny found the net in the first period. Hanney scored again early in the second as Butte built a 4-0 lead.
Yellowstone’s Gabe Coppo and Brandon Kididis scored to cut the lead in half in the fourth. Bailey added a goal for Butte in the final minute.
Fabian Vik, Caelin Chinery and Nick Bradshaw each assisted on two Butte goals. Tamer Bilman scored on one. Netminder Dale Pfannenstein turned away 34 shots for Butte, which outshot the Quake 43-36.
Yellowstone falls to 4-16-2. The Cobras are 9-12-2. Butte beat Yellowstone 6-2 Friday night.
The Cobras will play three games at home next week. Butte hosts Great Falls on Wednesday before welcoming Yellowstone for games on Friday and Saturday.
