Rangers top Maroons in rainy Livingston

LIVINGSTON — Butte Central’s tennis team had a rough day Tuesday.

The Maroons battled rainy conditions and dropped a pair of matches to Livingston in nonconference action. BC’s boys’ fell 4-3, while the girls lost 7-0.

Tyge Yelenich, a freshman, picked up BC’s lone victory that was settled on the court. The other two wins came on doubles defaults.

“Overall it was not a great day for us,” BC coach Becky Hancock said. “Tyge Yelenich continues to play tough.”

The Maroons will play at the Fergus Invitational Saturday in Lewistown. That is the final tune up before BC hosts the Southwestern A Divisional tournament next week in Butte.
