Rangers deny BC girls

LIVINGSTON — Butte Central’s girls’ basketball team missed a road opportunity Saturday.

The Maroons connected on just 10 of 21 free throws and fell 42-38 to Livingston in a non-conference tilt between the long-time rivals.

Central trailed 20-18 at halftime after hitting just 5 of 15 shots from the charity stripe.

Kodie Vonda and Abby Kokot each scored 11 points to lead the Rangers (4-3), who shot 8 for 8 from the line in the first half. Bobbi Lima scored eight.

Sofee Thatcher’s 13 points led the Maroons, who fell to 1-8. Emma Keeley tossed in eight points for BC, which got five form Delaney Hasquet and four form Taylor Harrington, Maddie Kump and Amira Bolton.

Central will head to Three Forks for a non-conference game on Thursday. The maroons will travel to Corvallis for a Southwestern A contest on Saturday.
