Welcome Holly Jordan Carpenter to the ButteSports team.  Holly will be covering Bulldog sports this season.  This is her first article.

I love this time of the year, the sunflowers are in bloom, it’s getting cool at night, kids are getting ready to go back to school and grown men are lined up Main Street watching football practice through the fence…there is magic in the air.  For you loyal Butte High fans, the wait is almost over.  You will soon be able to cheer on your favorite teams in Naranche Stadium, Ross J. Richardson Gym or the Jeremy Bullock Soccer Complex.  Golf is already in full swing and Cross Country is gearing up to run all over the state soon.  Life is good, Bulldog sports are back.

You can start off the season this Friday by previewing the football, volleyball and soccer teams during the Purple vs. White scrimmages.  Butte High will be the place to see all of the action.  Naranche Stadium will host the boy’s soccer team at 4:00, the girl’s soccer team at 5:15 and the football team will take to the gridiron at 7:00.  The volleyball team will be on the court in the Ross J. Richardson Gym starting at 3:00 with a Freshmen game followed by Sophomores, JV and Varsity.  The Cross Country team will showcase their talented runners ending their jaunt at Naranche around 3:00.

Make sure to show up hungry because the Butte Athletic Council (B.A.C.) will host a BBQ starting at 5:00 for all athletes, parents, family and fans of Butte High School athletics.  The B.A.C. will also have memberships available for purchase.  These memberships include two passes to all regular season events.  Friday night, free food and Butte High athletics, a great combination to kick off the school year.
