The NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition for the Butte/Silver Bow area will be Sunday, Sept. 30 at noon at Bulldog Memorial Stadium.
Punt, Pass & Kick is a non-contact competition that allows both boys and girls to showcase their talents in punting, passing and place-kicking a football for distance and accuracy. There is no cost to compete in the program, which is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Butte.
The competition age groups are 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15, with age determined as of Dec. 31, 2012. The top boy and girl finishers in each of the age groups will advance to sectional, and ultimately, regional and national competitions. All participants in the local program will receive an official NFL certificate and a pass for an upcoming football game courtesy of the athletic departments of Montana Tech, Butte High and Butte Central.
Registration forms can be picked up at the Butte Family Y, Fuel Fitness, all local (including Ramsey) schools, Universal Athletics, and just prior to the competition. Registration can also be completed on-line, but you must then print the completed on-line form and bring it to the competition.
Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. on the day of the event at the stadium. A parent or guardian must sign the waiver form, and the child must present proof of age and wear soft-soled gym shoes to the event. All other equipment will be provided.
