Jack Prigge sits in the clubhouse with a five stroke lead after the first day at the Belgrade Invitational on the Riverside Country Club Course.
Prigge finished the opening round four under par with a 67 to take a five stroke lead. Helena Capitals Joe McGreevey, CMR golfer Eli Groshelle and Billings SKyviews Tye Boone are tied for second at 72. Cooper Bourret of Bozeman and Gavin Klien of Gallatin are tied at 73 for third.
The Bulldogs sit in fourth after day one with a 310 score. Billings Skyview leads on the team board with a 300 followed by Boeman at 307, Helena Capital at 308. Gallatin is one stroke behind the dogs at 311.
Chase Choquette stayed in the medalist hunt with a 77, Jacob Sawyer carded an 80, Brenner Booth shot an 87 and Gavin Roesti finished with an 87.
GIRLS
Day one of the Belgrade invite saw the Billings West Golden Bears take a 12 shot lead over Billings SKyview. The bears posted a 317 to Skyviews 329 with Gallatin in third with a 346.
The Butte High Bulldogs finished day one with a 403 led by Taylor Sullivan at 96, Dylan Bartoletti was one stroke back at 97, Chelsi Lyons 101, Gussey Lean 109 and Kate DeShaw with a 128.
Bella Johnson of Billings west is on top of the leader board with a 71 five strokes better then Addiley Lloyd of Gallatin High with a 76. The top five includes Kenzie Walsh of Billings Senior in third with a first round 77 followed by Hadin Trost of West with a 78 and Bozemans Kira Connell and West golfer Annika Brocklebank tied at 79.
Day two of the invitational will be played on The Cottonwood Hills course in Bozeman with rounds starting at 9am.
