Prigge leads first flight at Women’s State Am

GREAT FALLS — Recent Butte High graduate Ella Prigge shot a 77 Thursday to take the lead in the first flight of the Montana State Women’s Amateur Championship at Meadow Lark Country Club. (Leaderboard)

Prigge leads soon-to-be Butte High senior Kodie Hoagland by one shot. Billings’ Sami Benson, who is about to join the Montana Tech team, sits in third at 83.

Kennedy Lean, another soon-to-be Oredigger, leads the third flight. The recent Butte High grad shot an 86 to take a five-shot lead over Laurel’s Lauren Mayala.

Kalispell’s Marcella Mercer matched par with a 72 to take the lead in the championship flight. Kameryn Basye of Bozeman and Kylie Esh of Missoula are one shot back at 73. Macee Greenwood of Corvallis sits in third at 75.

Susan Haskins of Bozeman carded a 73 to take the lead in the Women’s Mid Amateur, while Missoula’s Carol Van Valkenburg leads the Senior Am at 80.

The three-day tournament runs through Saturday.
