THREE FORKS — The host Gallatin Valley Posse did all of its scoring in the first inning Sunday.
It was more than enough.
The host Posse sent 20 batters to the plate while scoring 15 runs in the bottom of the first inning, and Gallatin Valley beat the Butte Muckers 15-6. (Boxscore)
Butte closed the Gallatin Valley tournament with a 1-4 record.
Gallatin Valley took advantage of seven walks and two Butte errors. Eight of the Posse’s runs were unearned.
C Miller, M Diefenderfer and C Tebay doubled to highlight the Gallatin Valley attack.
Zach O’Connell hit a double and a single, and Mason Neegard hit three singles to lead the Muckers. Derek Dunmire and Tocher Lee also singled. Lee worked two walks, while Dunmire, Tyler Duffy and Neegard each earned one.
The Muckers will play host to the Posse in a 5 p.m. doubleheader Tuesday at 3 Legends Stadium. The Miners and Muckers will put on a youth camp earlier in the day.
