Pochervina wins PP&K in Missoula

Konnor Pochervina might be taking his kick, pass and punt skills onto yet another level.

The Butte boy won the 6-7 age group in the Western Montana Sectional competition of the NFL Punt Pass & Kick program Sunday in Missoula.

All winners in Sunday’s competition are eligible to compete in the Seattle Seahawk regional competition, but must await the results of other sectionals, about 15, that will be conducted this month and early next month throughout the Pacific Northwest. Only the top four sectional winners advance to the Seattle event, which is scheduled to take place before the Seahawks Dec. 8 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

In all, 102 boys and girls ages 6-15 participated in the event Sunday.

Kooper Klobucar of Butte placed second in the boys’ 8-9 age group, while Butte’s Justin Large placed second in the boys’ 10-11 group.

In the 14-15 group, Butte’s Dylan Cook placed third. Butte’s Hannah Morin-Ferguson took third in girls’ 8-9 group.

The Butte competitors qualified for the Missoula event by winning their age group Sept. 30 at Bulldog Memorial Stadium.
