Butte High’s Class AA semifinal playoff game against Great Falls Russell has been postponed until 1 p.m. Saturday, Butte High activities director Chuck Merrifield said.
Russell officials said they couldn’t get the CMR bus to Butte because of the road conditions.
Butte High coach Arie Grey said the Bulldogs will have a short walk-through practice at 3 p.m. today in the Butte High gym.
The Butte High-CMR game was supposed to be played at 7 p.m. Gates and ticket booths will open at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Tickets will also be on sale at 1 to 4 p.m. today at the Butte High commons.
The other semifinal game between Kalispell Glacier and Bozeman will be played as scheduled in Kalispell. An official in the Bozeman High School athletic office said the Hawks left Bozeman Thursday and stayed overnight in Missoula. They left for Kalispell early today.
The game will be carried live at KBOW 550 AM. (Click here for link to listen online.) The Montana Tech game at Southern Oregon will be joined at the conclusion of the Butte High game. 2 comments

November 9, 2012, 7:08 pmIn reading your postponed article it was hard not to conclude that somehow you were blaming CMR for the postponement. “Russell officials said they couldn’t get the CMR bus to butte because of road conditions”. Making a decision based on player’s and coaches safety is far different from not being able to get the bus to butte. Football games in MT rarely if ever get postponed- its MT football. Have a great game Rustlers – Friday or Saturday – beat the bulldogs !

November 9, 2012, 9:22 pmI am not pro Butte or Great Falls. I live in Helena where I have spent over six hours shoveling wet and slushy snow in order to get in/out of my driveway. Our roads are lousy and visability has been poor. I guess that why a winter storm warning was posted. I remember another team that traveled on lousy winter roads. Memories wane but how many memebers of the Whitefish Bulldogs were killed after playing the Browning Indians? I love football too but common sense tells me to stay off the roads when are bad.
