Football
Offensive Player of the Week: Matt Struck, Southern Oregon
Struck is 6-foot-4, 220-pound senior quarterback from Central Point, Oregon. In Southern Oregon’s 42-7 conference win over MSU-Northern, Struck was 22 of 34 passing for 326 yards and five touchdowns. He rushed for 15 yards and one touchdown on seven carries. Also nominated: Trey Mounts of Montana Western.
Defensive Player of the Week: Joe Caicedo, Montana Western
Caicedo is a 6-1, 215-pound senior linebacker from Darby. In (RV) Montana Western’s 42-30 come-from-behind, upset road win over No. 11 Dickinson State, Caicedo recorded seven solo tackles, one tackle for loss (-6 yards), one quarterback sack (-6 yards). Also nominated: Devin Holden, Southern Oregon.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Cesar Ruiz, Southern Oregon
Ruiz is a 6-foot, 175-pound sophomore kicker from Blythe, California. In Southern Oregon’s 42-7 conference win over MSU-Northern, Ruiz was a perfect 6 for 6 PAT’s. Also nominated: John Mears of Montana Western.
Volleyball
Attacker of the Week: Taelyr Krantz, Carroll College
Krantz is a 6-foot, senior outside hitter from Helena. (RV) Carroll went 2-2 at the Days Inn & Suites Viterbo Invitational in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The Saints beat the University of Michigan-Dearborn 3-0 and William Penn (Iowa) 3-0, and lost to No. 5 Dordt (Iowa) 3-1 and No. 9 Vierbo University (Wis.) 3-0. Krantz averaged 3.69 kills with an attack percentage of .371, and recorded four solo blocks and eight assisted blocks. Also nominated: Sadie Lott of the University of Providence, Alyssa Pretty Weasel of MSU-Northern, Morgan Stenger of Montana Western and Weiyling Wu of Rocky Mountain College.
Defender of the Week: Julia Carr, Carroll College
Carr is a 5-7 sophomore defensive specialist from Portland Carr averaged 5.62 dig in the tournament in Wisconsin. Also nominated: Ayla Embry of Rocky Mountain College, Kelsey Goddard of Montana Western, Sacha Legros of the Univesity of Providence and Shania Neubauer of MSU-Northern.
Setter of the Week: Cydney Finberg-Roberts, University of Providence
Finberg-Roberts is a 5-11redshirt junior setter from Columbia Falls. Tenth ranked Providence went 2-1 at the OUAZ Triangular Tournament in Surprise, Ariz. The Argos beat Ottawa University (Ariz.) 3-2 and Embry-Riddle 3-2, and lost to No. 12 Bellevue University (Neb.) 3-0. Finberg-Roberts averaged 9.62 assists and 3,54 digs per set. Also nominated: Emily Feller of MSU-Northern, Kaylee Fritz of Montana Western and Kylie Kackman of Carroll College.
