WHITEFISH — The Frontier Conference named Players of the Week for football and volleyball Monday.

Football
Offensive Player of the Week: Kai Quinn, Eastern Oregon University

Quinn is 6-foot, 220- redshirt senior quarterback from Pendleton, Oregon. In No. 18 Eastern Oregon’s 42-35 conference home win over (RV) Montana Western, Quinn was 23 of 34 passing for 283 yards and four touchdowns. He rushed for 44 yards on 10 carries. Also nominated: Jet Campbell of Montana Tech, Nathan Dick of Rocky Mountain College, Duncan Kraft of Carroll College and Reese Neville of Montana Western.

Defensive Player of the Week: Ethan Hurst, Rocky Mountain College
Hurst is a 6-foot, 230-pound freshman defensive lineman from Santa Margarita, California. In Rocky’s 33-30 upset road conference win over No. 19 College of Idaho, Hurst recorded five solo tackles, three assisted tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss (-22 yards), three quarterback sacks (-17 yards) and one pass breakup recovery. Also nominated: T.J. Abraham of Carroll College, Blake Allred of Montana Tech, Zak Donato of Eastern Oregon, Taeson Hardin of College of Idaho and Dylan Pope of Montana Western.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Jaiden Machuca, Eastern Oregon
Machuca is a 6-foot, 170-pound redshirt senior kicker/punter from Parker, Colorado. In No. 18 Eastern Oregon’s 35-28 home conference road win over (RV) Montana Western, Machuca punted four times for an average of 44.8 yard per punt. His longest punt was 58 yards. He averaged 63.3 yards per kickoff. Also nominated: Riley Garrett of Rocky Mountain College, Jared Griffith of Montana Tech and Joseph Lema of Montana Western.

Volleyball
Attacker of the Week: Jenna Thorne, University of Providence

Thorne is a 5-11 sophomore outside hitter from Karitane, New Zealand. No. 10-ranked Providence went 3-1 at the GoSarpy.com Labor Day Tournament in Bellevue, Nebraska. The Argos beat McPherson (Kan.) 3-0, No. 6 Concordia (Neb.) 3-0, MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) 3-0 and lost to Doane University (Neb.) 3-1. Thorne averaged 3.75 kills with an attack percentage of .297. She recorded five service aces and eight assisted blocks. Also nominated: Karina Mickelson of Montana Tech and Kyra Oakland of Rocky Mountain College.

Defender of the Week: Ayla Embry, Rocky Mountain College
Embry is a 5-4 junior libero from Bozeman. No. 25 Rocky Mountain College went 2-2 at the GoSarpy.com Labor Day Tournament in Bellevue, Nebraska. The Bears beat Valley City State University (N.D.) 3-1 and Baker University (Kan.) 3-1, and lost to (RV) Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) 3-1 and SAGU (Texas) (3-1). Embry averaged 6.29 service aces and recorded seven aces. Also nominated: Sarah Hopcroft of Montana Tech and Sacha Legros of the University of Providence.

Setter of the Week: Cydney Finberg-Roberts, University of Providence
Finberg-Robers is a 5-11 redshirt junior setter from Columbia Falls. 10th ranked Providence went 3-1 at the GoSarpy.com Labor Day Tournament in Bellevue, Neb. The Argos beat McPherson (Kan.) 3-0, No. 6 Concordia (Neb.) 3-0, MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) 3-0 and lost to Doane University (Neb.) 3-1. Finberg-Roberts averaged 11.08 assists and 2.17 digs per set. Also nominated: McKenna Kaelber of Montana Tech.
