Peoples, ‘Jackets win 10th straight at home

BILLINGS — Quinn Peoples came off the bench to hit some key shots and score nine points to help the MSU-Billings women’s basketball team win its 10th straight home game Thursday night.

The Yellowjackets beat Western Oregon 62-55 in a GNAC game at the Alterowitz Gymnasium.

Monica Grimsrud and Kayleen Googins each scored 13 points in the win. Janiel Olson added 11 and Bobbi Knudsen scored eight.

Peoples did her damage in 20 minutes of play.

“Grimsrud and Goggins gave us a solid presence inside,” MSU-B coach Kevin Woodin said. “Peoples played well offensively and made some key baskets.”

The Yellowjackets, who are 13-5 overall and 7-3 in conference, play host to Saint Martin’s University Saturday.
