Palmore, Taylor take home Frontier Conference honors

Aniese Palmore of Montana Western and Zach Taylor of Carroll College were named Frontier Conference basketball Players of the Week, the league announced today.

Palmore took  home the women’s award, while Taylor was named the top men’s player.

Palmore is a 5-foot-5 senior guard from Santa Monica, California. No. 25 Montana Western recorded two conference home wins downing (RV) Carroll College 53-51 and Rocky Mountain College 52-47.

Palmore averaged 24 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals. She was 18 of 32 from the field, 6 of 11 in 3-point field goals and 6 of 7 from the free throw line. Against Carroll, Palmore hit the game-winning basket with .7 seconds remaining.

Martha Dembeck of Montana Tech and Natalee Faupel of MSU-Northern were also nominated along with Hailee Farstveet of Rocky Mountain College, Caelyn Orlandi of Lewis-Clark State and Bailey Pasta of Carroll College.

Taylor is a 6-foot senior guard from Duvall, Washington. No. 13 Carroll College won two games beating No. 9 Montana Western 89-64 on the road and Rocky Mountain College 78-72 at home.

Taylor averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, three assists and two steals. He was 15 of 26 from the field (58 percent), 4 of 9 (44 percent) 3-point field goals and a perfect 9 of 9 from the free throw line. Against Montana Western, he scored 22 of his 26 points in the second half.

Chris O’Neill of Montana Tech was also nominated for the award. So where Zach Hinton of Rocky Mountain College, Isaiah Omamogho of Lewis-Clark State and David Straughter of MSU-Northern.
