Orediggers With a Huge Win on the Road

Dillon, Mont.- The Orediggers of Montana Tech get their second conference win, with a 76-66 over the Bulldogs of Montana Western.

Montana Tech (11-11, 2-7) shot 51% from the floor, and 39% from the 3-point line in taking down the Bulldogs. The Orediggers also dominated the glass, out-rebounding Western 45-27.

The Orediggers led 16-11 after the first and were up 34-32 at the break.

Midway through the third frame, the Diggs went up by 11, and it felt like they might run away with it. The Bulldogs had different plans. Western erased that 11-point deficit and grabbed a one-point lead to finish the third quarter up 52-51.

Western was able to push the lead out to 6 points, 90 seconds into the fourth quarter. That would be the largest lead that Western would have in the game. With 4 minutes left in the game the Orediggers would tie the game up at 62-all. The teams would exchange baskets and be tied up once again 64-64 with three minutes left to play.

Over the final three minutes, the Orediggers would outscore the Bulldogs 12-2, and get their second win in Frontier Conference play.

Montana Tech was led by Junior Aubrie Rademacher who put up 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Aubrie has scored 20+ in three of her last six games.

Liv Wangerin and Brooklynn Hankwitz were both in double figures, Liv netting 13, and Brooklyn with 12. Wangerin also finished with 7 rebounds in the game.

Montana Western (12-10, 4-5) was paced by Jordan Sweeney who had 22 points, and Shainy Mack, who just passed the 1,000-point mark for the Bulldogs, had 14 points.

Montana Tech will be back at home on Thursday, as they host the Argos from the University of Providence.
