Montana Tech will honor Hall of Fame inductees Brian Nickel and Stephan Burns during Saturday’s Homecoming football game against Southern Oregon.
Saturday is also Military Appreciation Day, with anyone with a military ID receiving free admission.
Kickoff is at 1 p.m. The tailgate opens at 11 a.m.
Nickel was a first team All-American punter in 2009 averaging 42.6 yards per kick. Burns, a Butte native, led the nation in sacks in 2009 on his way to a first team All-American nod. A social at the Knights of Columbus for the Hall of Fame induction will follow the football game.
The Digger Athletic Department hosts the Brew Ha-Ha Friday night at the Front Street Station. The Brew Ha-Ha is the annual fall fundraiser to help support Digger Athletics. Tickets are $25 a plate which includes microbrew samples. Digger Ball tickets are still available for $125 a couple which includes a ball in the hopper for a chance to win cash and prizes plus $500 in chips for the casino night festivities. There will also be live and silent auctions. The event gets underway at 7 p.m. and walk ups are accepted.
The weekly Scouting Report is at the Vu Villa on Thursday at noon. Every Thursday the Montana Tech coaches and staff give a weekly breakdown of their programs.
