Montana Tech’s 28-20 win at Eastern Oregon didn’t merit the Orediggers a raise in the poll, voters figured, even though one of the teams ahead of the Orediggers lost.
Montana Tech is still ranked No. 8 in the latest NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, which was released Monday.
Saint Francis (Ind,), which is 5-2, jumped from No. 9 to No. 7 as William Penn (Iowa) fell from No. 5 to No. 11
Marian (Ind.) remained at No. 1, while Carroll College, the other two-loss team ahead of the 6-1 Orediggers, moved up one spot to No. 7.
Southern Oregon, the only other ranked Frontier Conference team, moved up four spots to No. 19.
Montana Tech has won its last six games, including a decisive win over Carroll. The Orediggers play at home Saturday against MSU-Northern.
