Orediggers spike Hawks

The Montana Tech volleyball team picked up its second sweep of the day Friday evening, rolling past Dickinson State at the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge at the Butte Civic Center.

The Orediggers won 25-17, 25-8, 25-20. Stats

Bailie Cortner tallied nine kills to lead a Tech attack that registered a .356 hitting percentage. Nicole Peacock and Katie Wiley added seven kills in the victory, while Makenzie Bauck (18 assits) and Tori Chelini (12) combined for 30 assists.

Sabrina Hopcroft 11 digs lead the Tech defense.

Tessa Sian’s seven kills paced the Blue Hawks, who went 0-2 on the first day. Butte Central graduate Sierra Pica made the trip with Dickinson, but she is going to redshirt this season.

The Orediggers play two matches on Saturday. Tech takes on the College of Idaho at 11 a.m. before closing the tournament against Corban University at 3 p.m.
