SPOKANE, Wash. — Montana Tech won two more matches Saturday, improving to 5-1 on the season.
The Orediggers beat Evergreen State in five games before topping Warner Pacific in four games. The matches were part of the Cascade/Frontier Red Lion Challenge.
Tech beat Evergreen 23-25, 25-15, 25-26, 22-25, 15-7. Sydney Norris spiked 17 kills in the win in over Evergreen. Mikayla Sullivan killed 14, while Lacey Phelan killed eight.
Kimmy Kavran’s 30 digs led the backcourt defense, that saw Norris collect 17 digs. Kirstin King dug up 10.
The Orediggers dropped the first game 25-19 against Evergreen. The battled back to close out the tournament by winning the next three games 25-20, 25-19, 25-21.
Norris led three Orediggers in double figures in kills with 14. Korey Krumm killed 13, and Sullivan spiked 10. Kavran collected 21 digs.
Setter Alison Lunde served up 95 assists on the day.
The Orediggers are back in action Wednesday when they take on Walla Walla University in Dillon.
