Orediggers sign Red Lodge QB

Montana Tech head football coach Chuck Morrell announced the commitment of standout quarterback Sean Sullivan from Red Lodge. This is the first signing for the Orediggers 2013 recruiting class.

At 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, Sullivan is an all-around athletic quarterback. While playing for the Class B Red Lodge Rams, Sullivan was named 2011 First Team All-State at quarterback and Second Team All-Conference safety.

“Sean embodies what it means to be an Oredigger, tough, ultra-competitive, a leader and a tremendous all-around football player,” Morrell said.

Through seven games this year with the undefeated Rams, Sullivan has 271 yards on the ground and 10 rushing touchdowns. Sullivan has 1,021 passing yards and 17 touchdowns through the air. He has a solid passing proficiency with a completion percentage of 68-percent and only one interception on the year.

In addition to football, Sullivan plays basketball for Red Lodge. He was selected All-Conference last season.

“We are excited that Sean is leading off our 2013 recruiting class,” Morrell said.

Sullivan, the son of Mike and Diane, brings a 3.8 GPA to Montana Tech.
