Orediggers ranked No. 11 in spring poll

Kansas City, Mo. — The Montana Tech football team was ranked NO. 11 on the NAIA Football Coaches’ Spring Top 25 Poll, which was released today.

The Orediggers were tied for No. 12 in the 2012 final poll, which came out in December.

Last season’s national champion Marian (Ind.) is ranked No. 1 with Morningside (Iowa) and Missouri Valley finishing out the top three.

Southern Oregon is ranked No. 5, while Carroll College received the No. 18 ranking. No other Frontier Conference teams received a mention.

The Orediggers, who went 8-3 last season, started the 2012 campaign unranked. The team won eight straight games reaching as high as No. 7 in the polls.

The Orediggers 2013 season starts Sept. 7 in La Grande against Eastern Oregon. The home opener is Sept. 21 against Montana Western.

Tech is in the middle of spring drills. The Orediggers’ spring game is April 27 at 1 p.m. at Alumni Coliseum.
