Orediggers host golf tourney Monday, Tuesday

The Montana Tech Invitational, first Frontier Conference golf tournament of the school year, will be held this Monday and Tuesday at the Butte Country Club.

The tournament for men and women will begin at 9 am. each day. The men will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The women’s teams play 18 holes each day.

“There will be some very, very good golfers at this tournament and the public is cordially invited to come and watch play,” Montana Tech coach Lee LaBreche said.

Along with the Orediggers, teams competing will be Westminster College, Lewis-Clark State College, Carroll College, University of Great Falls, MSU Northern, Rocky Mountain College, Miles Community College and Central Wyoming College.

Frontier Conference golf starts in the fall and culminates with the Frontier Conference Championships in late April. This year for the first time in the history of the conference, the championships will be held in Phoenix, Arizona.
