Orediggers host clinic, Sarsfield tournament

The Montana Tech women’s basketball team is host a pair of events this weekend. The Orediggers host their annual Digger Dribblers clinic on Saturday and the 23rd annual Peggy Sarsfield 3 on 3 tournament Monday.

The Digger Dribblers clinic starts at 9 a.m. Saturday morning and runs until 11. The clinic is geared toward kindergartners through the fifth grade. The women’s basketball team and staff will teach the fundamentals of basketball including dribbling, passing and shooting. Kids will be able to interact with the team in a close setting. The Orediggers also host Lewis-Clark State College Saturday night with tip off happening at 5:30 p.m.

The 23rd annual Peggy Sarsfield is President’s Day Monday. The yearly 3 on 3 tournament is named for longtime educator and administrator Peggy Sarsfield. The tournament has three age groups for boys and girls starting with 3rd/4th grades, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th. Games are officiated by Montana Tech women’s basketball players and coaches. Prizes are given to the champion in each age group. The tournament is slated to start at 9 a.m. on Kelvin Sampson Court in the HPER Complex.

Both events help support women’s basketball.
