Orediggers go 3-0 at the Marvel Classic

The Orediggers wrap-up the Marvel Classic with a 3-1 win over Dakota State University. (25-11, 25-27, 25-18,25-20)

Montana Tech (18-3, 4-1 Conf.) has rolled through Bellevue, Nebraska, going 3-0 over the two-day tournament. The Orediggers currently No. 10 in the country only lost two sets over the three matches. One of those sets to Bellevue Univ. the No. 18 team, and the other to Dakota State who beat the Orediggers in the preseason, and also recently took down Bellevue.

Senior Outside Hitter Maureen Jessop was hard to stop, finishing with 19 kills while hitting .400 on the day. Mo also accounted for three blocks. Fellow Senior Olivia Muir wrapped up an outstanding weekend with 18 kills on 45 attempts. Muir accounted for 48 kills over the three matches. Olivia Labeau finished the day with 12 kill, and six blocks. Freshman setter Rhys Layton led the Diggs with 35 assists in the match, and Emmy Green was tops with 17 digs.

Dakota State was led by Sydney Schell who amassed 21 points, on 19 kills, and 12 digs on the day.

Montana Tech is back into Frontier Conference play on Friday, Oct 20th, when they will host the Argos of the University of Providence.  Providence and the Orediggers are tied for first place in the Frontier at 4-1, with five remaining conference games left in the season.
