Montana Tech’s football game against the MSU-Northern Lights Saturday will have a different shade to it. And it won’t be coming from the Lights.
In honor of cancer awareness month, the Montana Tech Orediggers will be wearing pink socks, towels, tape and anything else they can incorporate into their uniform. St. James Healthcare is joining with the Montana Tech football team encouraging everyone to get screened for cancer.
Charlie Oredigger and the Digger Cheer Squad will also be throwing pink mini footballs into the crowd.
Prior to the football game, a moment of silence will take place to honor those who are battling cancer and to remember lives lost to cancer. Montana Tech staff will also wear pink buttons with the “Get Screened” logo. The 50/50 drawing proceeds will go to Relay For Life.
Kickoff against Northern is slated for 1 p.m. with the gates opening at noon. The tailgate starts at 11 a.m. in the north end zone.
