Orediggers fifth at Frontier golf

MISSOULA — The Montana Tech men’s and women’s golf teams sit in fifth place at the Frontier Conference Championship at Larchmont Golf Course.

The Carroll College men and the Rocky Mountain women lead heading into Tuesday’s final round. The first two rounds were played Monday.

On the men’s side, the Saints shot a 300 and a 299 for a 599 and a five-shot lead over second-place Lewis-Clark State.

Carroll’s Connor Hausauer shot 69-68 to lead the individual standings with a 7-under-par 137. Lewis-Clark State’s James Walkinshaw is second at 144.

The Orediggers are at 627 after rounds of 317 and 310. Zach Maassen and Lee Paulson are tied for 13th place at 154.

In the women’s competition, Rocky shot 314 and 322 for a 636 and a one-shot lead over Lewis-Clark State. Carroll is third at 685.

Kyla Clancy of Rocky, Heather Bruce of LC-State and Brandi Bork of Westminster College are tied for the individual lead at 151. Carroll’s Jackie Mee is next  at 154.

Montana Tech shot a 403 and a 389 for a 792 total. Oredigger Kiley McConnell sits in 12th place at 170. Teammate Danielle McCully is 15th at 174.
